Make an appointment with Pete to discuss your horse (or horses) with you and/or your horse care team (veterinarian, farrier/trimmer, body worker, trainer, etc.). The goals are to establish expectations and come up with a team treatment plan customized to the horse’s needs and the owner’s capabilities. We can do this with a combination of phone, text information/discussion, photos and face to face video chat. These sessions are customized to suit your needs, but your time with Pete will most likely be divided into multiple sessions as needed, as opposed to one continuous three-hour session.
To make the phone or video consultation time more efficient, it is recommended that, prior to the appointment, you send a written description to us. Briefly discuss your horse’s breeding, age, current diet, environment and work (previous, current and hopeful). Include history of health and/or lameness issues as well as the treatment options you have tried before and their results. If possible, include radiographs, veterinary diagnosis, farrier write-ups, hoof photos, body photos, video of your horse moving, etc. -- anything you can gather that will help Pete develop a better understanding of what you and your horse have been through. Pete will study this information prior to meeting with you.
After coming up with the initial plan, Pete can be available, as needed, for future consultations with the horse owner and/or the veterinarian, farrier or trimmer to continue to customize the horse’s treatment.
